Corporate Finance & Capital Markets Analyst

We are looking for new talents to join our Lisbon internship programme in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets.

Origination and Execution Lisbon teams provide support to customers across all territories EMEA and work closely with analysts and associates based in Paris, London, Madrid, Frankfurt and Milan.

Role:


Provide support to Corporate Finance or Capital Markets teams across EMEA in day-to-day origination and execution efforts:

  • Opportunity research expertise (research and analysis of potential transaction opportunities);
  • Customer presentations support (pitches, teasers and other marketing materials related to the transaction);
  • Strategic and financial analysis on sectors and companies;
  • Valuation models (comparable trading and transaction multiples, DCF...);
  • Database management support;
  • Market updates.



Skills:

  • Strong academic background, preferably a Master's degree in Finance, Management or Economics;
  • Strong financial modelling skills;
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive approach to problem solving;
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Team player;
  • Fluent English is mandatory.

Data Analyst

GCA team (Global Client Analystics) is responsible for making actionable recommendations for global markets sales, trading and business management teams from the industrial analysis of client behaviour. We capture data from different sources, obtain value from it and translate into the most efficient form of visualization.



Responsibilities:

  • Interaction with sales, trading and management to understand client business intelligence needs;
  • Creation of data workflows using Alteryx/Python, transforming raw data, through exploratory analysis and algorithmic development, to production and ongoing improvement;
  • Production of interactive dashboards primarily using Tableau as a tool.



Skills:

  • Strong academic background, preferably a Master's degree in Finance, Management or Economics;
  • Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Business Management, Economics or Information Management;
  • Experience with Python programming language (Java/C++ will be considered);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database modelling;
  • Knowledge of Alteryx or other ETL software;
  • Knowledge of Tableau or other visualization software;
  • Interest in Data Science.

Data Architect

We manage the data that the other team members use. This ranges from choosing appropriate warehousing solutions, processing the data into useful data structures, developing crawlers and CFTs to access all that sweet data and deciding on architectures to guarantee proper usage of data.



Role:

  • Design and maintain scalable data models and pipelines;
  • Create appropriate data onboarding, offloading and management procedures;
  • Maintain and enhance the Analytics Consulting datalake;
  • Promote and Enforce best practices on data handling, security modules, access control, production releases…



Skills:

  • Expertise in SQL and other classical warehousing solutions. Knowledge of graph databases and NoSQL is a plus;
  • Familiarity with scrapper and search engine fundamentals and tools, such as Elasticsearch;
  • Understanding of distributed and asynchronous computation preferred;
  • Knowledge of HDFS solutions.

Data Engineer

Data Scientist

We work with large amounts of data, often unstructured, which needs to be digested using advanced mathematical models and state-of-the-art methods with focus on machine learning and statistical algorithms. We build our analyses in Python and R.



Role:

  • Help us create efficient Data Driven products – models, analyses, visualizations…;
  • Prototype and validate data-based solutions to business problems;
  • Develop a suite of ML-powered general purpose bricks to use as off the shelf AI solutions inside the organization’s perimeter;
  • Customize solutions to specific business applications leveraging on previously built data bricks.



Skills:

  • Strong programming skills (R & Python) and algorithmic knowledge;
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms. Deep Learning is a plus;
  • Experience with data modelling and data visualization principles;
  • Exposure to HDFS systems is a plus.

Economist / Management

An internal advisory team at the heart of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking, supporting the rapid growth of the bank in a dynamic market environment. The team brings together 30 former consultants and banking experts who started working closely with the Bank’s Business Lines and Management Board.

Mission:

  • Participate to the framing and design phases of strategic projects providing support to BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Management in the transformation process both locally and at group level.



Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to support ongoing project and practices.
  • Create and take ownership of basic models and participate to the creation of complex models (Excel).
  • Develop solutions answering projects issues and establish corresponding core messages.

Skills:

  • Graduated from a top Business or Management school.
  • Consulting experience is appreciated and general banking industry knowledge is a plus.

Applications:

  • Applied to finance: understand the logic of markets to extract information from prices and to be able to detect inconsistencies and help trading make money out of them.
  • Applied to information infrastructure: detect the bottlenecks in IT systems and deliver solution to resolve them



Skills:

  • Engineering background: maths and computer science obviously but we also have successful people from biomedical, physics, electronics, mechanics or aerospace background.
  • This is NOT an IT job but you are expected to know how to how to code or to be willing to learn. You’re not using an analytics library, you’re building it.
  • Finance is NOT a pre-requisite: you’re smart, you’ll catch-up quickly.

Role:

Risk Data Scientist - "The derivatives expert"

Join the RISK expert team on derivatives. We assess Counterparty, Liquidity, Funding, Collateral and Market risks on all derivative transactions.

Role:

  • Assess counterparty risk of non-vanilla transactions.
  • Investigate the use of machine learning to have a better understanding of the risks, improve methodologies, or help identifying data quality issues automatically.
  • Help drive new approaches to presenting the risks to senior management, such as the use of dynamic dashboards to replace static reports.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, such as ad-hoc stress testing or investigating the impact of new regulation for the bank.



Skills:

  • Solid quantitative background.
  • Solid technical skills, aside from Microsoft Office (with VBA) also experience in the use of a programming language such as Python or R.
  • Excellent knowledge of derivatives instruments and associated risk drivers.

RPA Developer - The robot teacher

We're looking to add more people to our team. There are new worlds to automate and we need more RPA Developers. We're solving our clients’ problems automating repetitive tasks, in order for them to be able to focus on other critical tasks. We create robots with Blue Prism, teaching them how to work with clients' applications efficiently.

Role:

  • Work closely with the business, helping in define phase of the robot.
  • Design the robot for the opportunity identified by the business.
  • Guarantee the successful delivery of the robot, passing through all stages of development.



Skills:

  • Knowledge of automation tools (Blue Prism).
  • Ability to understand client needs and design them into a process automation tool.
  • Logical mind-set with tendency to simplify processes.
  • Capacity of solving real world problems.



Experience and profile:

  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering fields or related fields.
  • Experience working with Blue Prism and/or automation tools.
  • Experience in programming is a bonus.
  • Sci-fi robot (BB8, R2-D2) lovers are preferred.
